Overview
When the desk offers your car, verified buyers seal one offer each before the closing date. You read every offer privately after it closes and accept one, or none.
What's in an Offer?
Each sealed offer includes:
The Figure
The buyer's price for the car, in GBP. Only you and the desk ever see it.
The All-in Landed Total
Duty, VAT, shipping and registration, computed when the buyer seals. Read the figure and the landed total together — they are different numbers.
Shipping
The buyer's chosen method: RoRo, container or air.
Inspection
A firm offer, or one made subject to an independent inspection. The finding is recorded against the offer.
A Message
Some buyers write with the offer. You can reply in the thread that belongs to it.
The Bidding Process
Step 1: The Car is Presented
The desk arranges the photographs, documents and inspection, and the car is offered privately with a closing date.
Step 2: Buyers Seal Their Offers
Verified buyers view the car by appointment and seal one offer each. No buyer sees another buyer's figure at any point.
Step 3: The Window Closes
Bidding runs for the 7 or 14 days you chose. An offer placed in the final two hours moves the closing date by two hours, up to twelve times, so nobody loses a car to a refresh.
Step 4: You Read Every Offer
Read every offer in your dashboard after the closing date, sorted how you choose. Nothing is hidden from you and nothing is filtered out.
Step 5: Accept One, or None
You have 7 days from the closing date to accept exactly one offer. When you accept, the desk opens escrow and introduces you and the buyer.
Timeline
- Presentation: the desk reviews the car, then it goes live
- The window: 7 or 14 days, chosen when you present the car
- Decision: 7 days from the closing date to accept one offer
- After acceptance: the desk introduces both parties, and escrow opens
Tips
- Read the landed total, not only the figure
- Message buyers with questions; each thread belongs to one offer
- A firm offer and a subject-to offer are different commitments
- The decision period is yours; nothing expires on its own
